My First Refashion!

So the other day at Old Navy I found two little girl's shirts for $1.99 and thought to myself, "Hmm, this would make a cool refashion project". So after having them hang out in my Sew Happy Place ... I decided that today was the day.

After about an hour, this is what I came up with. I love it! I hope my little Gigi loves it too. Come to think of it, I may just have to make one for myself. Happy Thursday!

I Call her Sonnie

Ah, I just completed another doll order...whew. And let me tell ya, working in this sewing room is not easy. Why you ask? Well, this room has to be the warmest room in my whole house (besides the attics of course)...even with the ceiling fan going on and a/c too! LOL

So, as for my day thus far...well...I am still in my pj's! I know...it's almost 5 o'clock...hey, it's hot outside and the pool is closed so seriously why get dressed right? Haha.

Hope you enjoy my new pic of the doll. I call her Sonnie, but her new Mommy may change her name and that's totally cool.

Here are two things I made as a thank you to my friend Lydia who designed my new business cards. I love, love these outfits. I am adding brother/sister outfits to my site. What do you think about that?

At the moment I am watching A Room With at View...wow, I had no idea this movie was so romantic....sigh. I guess you could say "watching" is a bit of a stretch as I am sewing on new dolls. Check out this one I shipped out last week. Soo cute!

Latest Dolls

Here are just a few of the dolls I have recently made for customers. I absolutely love these dolls! Now, I am so new on how to upload pics so any advice on how to do this better...please share with me.
The ones in the far right were dolls I donated to CraftHope for the Hope for Haiti campaign. I call them my Cupie Dolls. I love the heart shaped mouth...What do you think?

Time to Post

So, it has come to my attention that I have not posted in a while. Let me tell ya, this Mama had no idea her summer would be so busy...but I can say I am blessed to be busy. We have been out of town for graduations/parties/dances and have had the pleasure of having company over. Now that it seems that we will be home for more than a week I am going to do my best to post often. I am happy to say that I am launching a new Etsy site on August 1st. The new shoppe will be http://www.gigibelledesigns.etsy.com/ . Thanks to a dear friend, I now have amazing new business cards with an awesome logo! Thanks Lydia! I cannot tell ya how awesome it feels to be proud of handing out my cards.

In my shoppe I plan on having much of the same items, but will be adding a few more things such as napmat covers, hair clips and wel...I guess you will just have to check it out for yourself. Oh, don't forget to follow me on twitter (same twitter site-mamidesigns) and post comments too as I am going to be doing giveaways on this blog! Woo Hoo...I have always wanted to do a giveaway, but now I just need to find people to giveaway to. So tell everyone you know about me and stay tuned.

Here are just a few dolls I have been working on. Orders can still be made on my http://www.mamidesigns.etsy.com/ site.

Me 40? Yes, it's True!

So on June 16th this new blog owner turned the big 4-0! Someone asked me if I felt older...uh, that would be a big NO. I have no idea what 40 is to feel like, so all I can say is that I don't feel a day over 39...LOL.

I have to say the only crazy thing I did was jump in the pool (this past weekend in Dallas) with all my clothes on. See, I sat there watching all the fun and was so freakin' hot that I got to thinking. And this is what I thought, "I am gonna be 40 in a couple of days and would really like to do something so out of the ordinary. What can I do?". At this point, I said to myself, "Just jump in the pool with your clothes on...it's hot and well, everyone would totally not expect it." So after a bit I made an anouncement for everyone to get those camera out (see we were at my SIL Erika's bro's house) because this Mama was jumping in. It was so liberating to do it. I know, it may not have been the most craziest thing that people have done, but for me...let's just say it was. There is video to prove this fact...now I just gotta learn how to post it. In the meantime, here is a pic of me taken on my b-day after my hair cut. Enjoy!

Dinner: Leftovers= Dessert: Special

Seeing how it is 5 p.m. here at the C house and dinner is just around the corner and well, since dinner is leftover Spaghetti and leftover Chicken salad (not mixed together of course...LOL), I have decided to make this for dessert: Darck Chocolate Brownies from Joy the Baker. Follow her delish dishes here on: www.joythebaker.com

Still Here!

Okay, so I am still working on how to get this blog going. I have so many ideas and just need to figure out how to post pics, make tabs/sections at the top of my blog page and well, many other things.

Keep checking back to see what I am up to. Oh, I made this for a customer from my www.mamidesigns.etsy site.

Happy Mother's Day

My Mother's Day began with breakfast in bed from my Babe and Gigi. On the menu: scrambled eggs with ham and a side of salsa...yum! Oh and I can't forget the biscuit with grape jelly. This was all accompanied by a nice fresh brewed cup of coffee. I ate my breakfast and enjoyed some quality time with myself as I surfed the T.V. and the web. After spending what seemed like hours there I got myself up, showered and dressed. I then turned to my wonderful Babe and said, "No need for anything fancy for lunch, I feel like eating a hotdog from Costco." Seriously, that's what I said. The rest of the family got dressed and off we went to enjoy a Costco hotdog. And let me tell ya it was so delish! See Costco serves Hebrew National hotdogs and if you have not had one yet, let me tell ya you are missing out. Sorry no pics, but I am sure I will be seeing Costco again soon.

Hope you had a great Mother's Day no matter what you ate today.
